Analysis of Simone Legno

Simone Legno is an Italian designer that co founded the brand Tokidoki. (which means sometimes in Japanese); Simone loved to draw when he was younger and soon discovered different softwares that he could use to bring his creations to life which changed his carreer. Starting as a designer, Simone focused on showing his work on the world wide web he accumulated his work and began to form his own style, which bore heavily on a Japanese style of drawing.

Simone Legno's artwork is definitely one of the most different yet eye-catching work I have seen, from looking at his earlier work I can see that he has maintained an interesting, colourful and memorable style within his drawings and creations. The piece below is one of my favourites of his work and also seems to be one of the most famous, In the piece are many different characters, although some of them has been duplicated, because of the amount of detail simone has managed to keep his characters remain unique which is what I like best about his work. The characters in this particular piece seem to all be dressed in Halloween costumes or resemble the halloween theme with devil horns but remain to look inoscent and cute whitch in my opinion helps create a certain style that Simone seems to always manage to maintain. The whole piece is based on many different layers which Simone has used to repeat and change at some points, the colour's involved are very bright and vibrant and compliment each other very well. The use of a bold outline around each of the characters also helps to create that cartoon style which Simone shows in most of his work. Another great thing about this piece is that Simone has managed to create an abstract background for the characters that are made up of random objects and shapes but still manage to fit in with the scene and the colour scheme.
